After 6 months research, 3 months creation, 10 months leaving it alone and passively trying to figure out the self publishing industry, keyword search and book description, 6 months making updates and preparing to launch, it’s finally out! I had no idea what I was getting myself into when I started this project. But it was quite the learning journey.
It started when I found a copy of the #artofwar at a breakfast place in HK, and that’s when the idea found me, it just sat there quietly in the back of my mind, waiting to be executed. -
Fast forward 1 year, the opportunity came: I needed a topic for my thesis, and it all began: from reading and rereading the original text, to drawing it out, researching the market to find an interesting concept and angle, figuring out the story line, writing and rewriting the text, learning how to make a picture book, creating the dummy to figure out the visual flow of the imagery, cat and dog study, 2 major revisions, learning how to do visual research.
